Top Overland Truck Campers 2026: Comprehensive Comparisons

Top Overland Truck Campers: A Guide to the Options

Overland truck campers range from minimalist pop-ups for mid-size trucks to fully equipped hard-sides for long expeditions. The right pick depends on your truck, your payload, how many people sleep in it and what season you travel. Here is how the main styles compare, and where Cascadia Overland Co.'s three campers fit.

Top picks by use

  • Lightest and simplest: Frontier. A clamp-on wedge pop-up at about 300-350 lb, around 9 inches tall closed, sleeping one or two adults on a 97" x 50" platform. Fits most mid-size and full-size trucks.
  • Most space for the weight: Summit. A clamp-on wide-body pop-up at about 480-570 lb with 6'7" to 7'+ of standing room for three to four people.
  • Four-season and long trips: Apex. A fully welded aluminum slide-in pop-up with insulation, built to your bed length, from 1,029 lb base.

How to choose

  1. Find your truck's payload on the door-jamb sticker.
  2. Decide how many people sleep in the camper and in which seasons.
  3. Choose a style that stays comfortably inside your payload once options, water and gear are added. The weight calculator helps.
  4. Confirm fitment. Send us your VIN and a few bed measurements (see the vehicle measurement guide).
